The 718 Mod Roadmap
2.0L to ~440 WHP on pump. 2.5L to 530+ WHP on E85 + methanol. Every part, every fueling decision, every tune — in the order that actually works on the turbo 718.

Factory baseline
Where every 2.0T and 2.5T starts. The chassis is exceptional, but the inlet, intercooler, and exhaust all start choking the moment you ask for more.
Breathing & cooling
The highest-ROI stage on the entire platform. Fix airflow and heat before you fix anything else.
Exhaust & fueling
Open the path out of the turbo and give the motor enough fuel to run the boost the tune is asking for.
Turbocharger upgrade
The OEM turbo runs out of efficiency before the engine does. Past Stage 2, the turbo has to come off.
Why we recommend the turbo firstMax effort / 2.5L apex build
The RaggDoll program on the 2.5L. 600+ crank / 530+ wheel on 100 octane, E85, and methanol injection. Reserved for serious builds.
FAQ
Not if you want it to actually work. A bigger turbo with stock inlets, intercooler, and downpipe will heat-soak immediately and pull timing. Each stage exists because the next one depends on it.
Yes. The platform is sequential — Stage 1 enables Stage 2, Stage 2 enables Stage 3. Owners who skip stages almost always come back to do them after their build under-delivers.
Plan for hardware in the $12K–$18K range plus tuning and install labor. Stage 1 alone runs $3K–$4K and is the highest-ROI step.
Yes — we've validated 2.5L builds making 600+ crank / 530+ wheel on 100 octane, E85, and methanol injection, driven daily, with no internal engine work. On the 2.0L the honest ceiling is closer to 500 crank / 440 wheel on pump fuel. The 9A2 engine is stronger than its reputation; what matters is honest cooling, clean fueling, and a proper tune.
